Multisport

Wanting to learn the skill for kayaking to compete in multisport events?

We can teach you how to be safe out there on the river while training, as well as teach you how to go fast and stay in your boat.

If you are needing your Grade 2 certificate for the Coast to Coast, we are approved assessors. Under New Zealand's Adventure Activity Regulations anybody commercially offering training or assessment in kayak skills need to be able to provide clients with their Audit certification. Kaituna Kayaks are audited by OutdoorsMark to guide and teach kayaking, and we have a number of excellent teaching rivers in our area.

Many people ask how long will it take to get their Grade 2 certificate - it's a million dollar question! If you have never kayaked before it may take a few weeks/months of learning before you have the skills to get the Grade 2 cert. If you are a regular paddler kayaking all the time and can roll, catch eddies, ferry glide, throw a bag, swim the river, then a day's assessment will probably do.
